The Intense Hockey Training Project strives to help take hockey players to their next level, and to help them stay there.
The Intense Hockey Training Project was created by current NHL players and coaches to provide the serious hockey player an opportunity to achieve their goals in the area of development on and off ice as an advanced player.
The strength and conditioning program is the rock on which the total hockey player is built! Our strength and conditioning program here at THMN rivals no one! We focus on developing every players physical strength, speed, quickness, endurance and overall athleticism. Programs designed for individuals, small groups and teams.
Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) training is used to improve a player’s athleticism, which acts as a cornerstone when building a great hockey player. This is done using different drills that target a player’s ability to move their feet and subsequently their bodies quickly and efficiently through space. Programs designed for individual, small group, and teams.
THMN’s on-ice instruction provides individual players and small groups the opportunity to participate in a structured hockey practice tailored to meet each player’s needs. The objective of these private on-ice sessions is to further reinforce the foundational skills of each player, while, at the same time, continuing to build on that foundation. Programs designed for individuals, small groups, and teams.
Our objective, using our Endless Ice Skating Treadmill, is to define, and then refine each players skating stride and mechanics. We evaluate the players skating technique, identify deficiencies, establish a progressive plan to attack and eliminate those deficiencies, and then carry that plan out. The Endless Ice Skating Treadmill is at the center of the training program, however, it does not stand alone. We supplement the treadmill work with our slide boards and speed, agility, quickness/plyometric exercises to help players of all skill levels develop the proper skating stride and strength to maximize their potential.
Our goaltending instruction is provided by Zach Sikich and his outstanding staff at Prohybrid Goalie Training. The Prohybrid mission is to develop intelligent athletes who are consistent goaltenders with passion and pride for the position. Please visit the Prohybrid website at www.prohybridtraining.com for information on their outstanding programs.
Our off-ice skills training option is great for players who want to focus on specific skills such as shooting, stick-handling, skating stride, power and explosion. It is a 60 to 75 minute session that, through the utilization of our Total Hockey Training Systems, focuses on and develops four hockey specific skill sets: 1) Shooting power, accuracy and release (Shooting Lanes), 2) Stick-handling, including passing and puck control (Stick-handling Area), 3) Skating stride, form and power (Slide Boards), and 4) Quick start and acceleration (Synthetic-Ice Speed Ramp).
